Our Mission Statement
Mama n’ Cubs Playschool is more than a childcare center. We are committed to providing quality childcare by creating a safe, and nurturing environment with our family inspired program. Our administrators and Early childhood educators strive to create the most fitting path for children on their future academic success. We understand that self-directed learning leads to problem solving and that children are social beings who love to explore and experiment. Our goal as a team is to provide opportunities for families to be involved with their children’s education and find access to parenting support. We aim for Mutual Respect and communication as a top priority, because when it comes to the children, they are a part of our family.
Our focus as a team is to get to know your child on a personal level so we can provide personalized learning experiences that help them develop the skills they need to be successful.
The town in which our center is located is called “a small city with a big heart”. Our mission statement reflects just that. Our town is small, but the community is amazing. We are a small center with larger centers surrounding us, but our core values and openness are what draws families in. The majority of our families are recommendations. Upon enrollment we provide the families a chance to come into the center to meet the administration and staff and they tour the facility. Most enroll immediately because they can feel the sense of family and community we’ve established within the center. Creating a mission statement for my program that reflects who we are and what we provide was not difficult, as once you step into our center it is evident that we are a family-based center. Our teachers are friendly, approachable and quick to respond to any questions or concerns that students or parents may have.
Core Values
Family- A primary focus is creating a family atmosphere for all who walk through the doors, both teachers and families. We value everyone's opinions, suggestions and concerns. We support families in the responsibility to nurture and provide a safe haven for all children.
Respect- In everything we do from the administration to the classroom, from our interactions with parents, children and teachers, we conduct ourselves with honest and straightforward actions and speech. We believe in doing what is right for the children.
Commitment- We are committed to provide quality care to our parents, and meet the needs of all children. We work together to provide a happy, safe, nurturing environment for everyone that is involved with our program. Our actions are based on an open mind to teaching, We continue to learn everyday as we teach
Creativity- We aim to help inspire children and promote a sense of imagination. Creativity is not only artistic or musical. It also promotes problem- solving skills.
Diversity and inclusion- We aim to provide a sense of belonging to every child, family and staff member. In our program your practices and beliefs matter to us.
Teachers
Miss Joanne (Jojo)
I have been at Mama n Cubs for 6 years. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I currently hold my associate in early childhood education, my Early Childhood Teacher Credential, over 500 hours of practicum experience in NAEYC accredited ECE programs and over 14 years of experience working with children. One of my favorite things is working one on one with the children and watching as they learn new things, this not only confirms the passion I have for teaching, but it allows me to grow as well.
Miss Tabitha
I have been at Mama n Cubs for over 7 years, however, I have worked in the childcare field for 13 years. Currently I am the lead teacher of the pre-toddler room. I am currently enrolled at HCC working towards my bachelor's degree in psychology with a target on child development and art therapy.
Miss Yemerie
I am the lead teacher in the Busy Bees room (Older toddler 2's). I have been with Mama n Cubs for 3 years, but I have been teaching toddlers since 2018. I have also worked alongside children with special needs and birth two three, I am furthering my education to become more knowledgeable in that area of education. The thing I love most about teaching is seeing the growth, and development in the children, it makes me realize that I am making a difference in the start of their education.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs to meet the needs of children from infancy through school age. Our teachers plan monthly curriculums. Each week with a different theme. We incorporate holidays and many more important dates. Curriculums that include practicing developmental skills, art projects and more. Each child is observed and taught in a way specific to them.
